Firstly, i would just like to say i can build computers etc.etc so pls don't just recommend that website where it tells you if you can play it or not.
What i was wondering is very specific, i have q6600 and 8gb ram which i know is more than enough for crysis 2, however i only have 8800gt (512mb) video card. I know that is the minimum official requirements and so technically should play, and i have seen youtube videos with people playing with highish fps with 8800gt, but my question is....would it actually damage the card playing a game that intensive? Would it be likely to overheat and break/and or break any other component in my pc? I don't mind playing on lowish graphics i just dont want to break my 8800gt by playing a game that is too demanding for it.
Thanks :)Crysis 2 requirements help?
you wont break it, however the game will run at a snails pace, so be expecting lots of lag
The graphics card shouldn't overheat or anything like that as obviously its built for the purpose, however as you seem to know you will only be able to play on probably the minimal graphics and just ensure that your desktop has plenty of ventilation and you will be fine. You shouldn't at all need extra cooling
Happy gaming :)

No, you will not (most probably, like about 99.99999% time) break your CPU or GPU by playing an intensive game. The components are designed to run at 100% load, and you can't put more than that.
So, if your PC has good air flow and does not get too hot generally, then you should have no problem.
Since the game was ported over to the consoles (5 years old) the game should work, between minimum or medium, not too sure though.

it wont break your computer, but you'll see quickly that it won't work very well. Unless its overclocked then there's no chance that your computer will break.
